New to ACF and don’t know much about it? This will hopefully be helpful…
What’s the difference between ACF and ACF Fresh?
ACF
ACF’s weekly worship service is on Wednesday nights at 7:30pm. We worship in the Dahlonega Methodist Church’s sanctuary, 107 S. Park St.
The flow of the service is that similar to a typical church service. We have announcements, a prayer, worship, biblical teaching, more worship, then a closing prayer.
The service last between an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes.
ACF Fresh
ACF Fresh is a 4 week Freshman ministry night on Tuesdays at 7pm. We meet at the ACF House, 89 Martin St. This year we will start August 26th and go to September 16th.
We aim to build community at ACF Fesh. We understand how difficult it can be to find community your Freshman year. Our hope is to give you some foundations to build on in those four weeks and then to integrate you into the broader ACF Community.
The flow of the night starts with a time to hang out and eat some food. Then we move into get to know you games. We then start with any announcements, a prayer, a short teaching, and then end with small groups.
We aim for ACF Fresh nights to last around an hour.
Who can come?
Only Freshman are allowed at ACF Fresh but all are welcome to come to any ACF event we do!
Is ACF a part of a denomination?
No, ACF is not a part of a specific denomination. We consider ourselves pan-Wesleyan. Meaning we draw our roots to the Methodist lineage. There are many denominations in America from the Methodist lineage and we are able to be a college ministry for any of these denominations.
Do you have to be Christian or come from a Wesleyan theological background to come?
You do not have to be Christian or from a Wesleyan Theological background to come to any ACF event!
We are after the heart of God and we whole heartedly believe in God. We seek after the Holy Spirit and our whole organization revolves around the belief in God. We are also Wesleyan in our theology. We want to be upfront with who we are and what we are about, so you know before ever coming to ACF.
Do we do anything else besides ACF and ACF Fresh?
Absolutely! We do mission trips, community outreach, random hangout nights (movie nights, trivia nights, cookouts, etc.). We want to build a true community and believe community is built by living life with each other, not just once or twice a week.
What is the ACF House?
The ACF House is our college ministry house here at UNG. We want it to be your home away from home! You can come by the house anytime you want. There are normally students there studying, watching something, playing games, cooking meals, or just hanging out.
There are usually snacks in the fridge and pantry. If it has someone name on it, don’t eat or drink it. If it doesn’t then it is free game!
